Mount Bromo in East Java (in Indonesia’s Ring of Fire). After the Grand Canyon, this is the most spectacular view I’ve ever seen in my life. 4 volcanoes at sunrise - 2 of them spewing gas. Getting here starts with a 2:30am wake up. Normally people drive to the top, but my jeep broke down, so I had hike (3,000 ft of elevation gain from 3-5am. Oof!). The view from the top (at King Kong Hill) is crowded and full of influencers, but fuck it. Look at that view! Mount Semeru erupted right at sunrise (probably because of the change in temperature). A bucket list visit.
